About Me

Hello, my name is Carla Embuido. I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Nevada, Reno, where I’m pursuing a path in both Business and future Nursing.

I chose this route because I’ve always wanted a career that gives me stability, but also lets me explore different sides of myself. Growing up, I always pictured the “college experience” and wanted to be part of that environment, but I also wanted to make sure I was working toward something meaningful and secure.

Education & Career Path

  • University: University of Nevada, Reno
  • Year: Sophomore
  • Majors/Interests: Business & Nursing

In high school, I was on track to become an EMT, which is where my interest in healthcare really started. That experience pushed me toward nursing because I liked the idea of helping people in a more long-term and impactful way.

At the same time, I’ve always been interested in creativity, marketing, and how things are presented to people which is why I also chose business. For me, it’s about keeping my options open while building something stable. I really like money.

Where do I Work?

Night Time Shift

Right now, I balance two roles on campus:

  • VP of Engagement – RHA (Residence Hall Association)
  • Dining Hall Food Worker

I love being the VP of Engagement, I feel like it really ties into what I want to do, my creativity and sharing that with the residence hall. I also enjoy advocating needs and wants of the people and making active change!

I also enjoy working in the dining hall it taught me a lot on what goes on in a buffet style work environment, there’s honestly a lot of gossip you don’t think is there until you work behind the counters!

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of school and work, I like to keep things creative and chill:

  • Playing video games (im goated in COD)
  • Drawing and experimenting with different art styles and mediums
  • Trying new things and learning as I go

These hobbies help me relax, but they also connect back to my interest in creativity and expression.

Passions & Goals

It’s gonna be hard, but it’ll be worth it 🙂

To be frank, my biggest goals is financial freedom. I want to be in a position where I don’t have to constantly stress about money and can actually enjoy life.

But beyond that, I want to:

  • Create meaningful memories
  • Take risks and step outside my comfort zone!!
  • Experience as much as possible at least once
  • Build a life that feels fulfilling, not just “successful” on paper >:)
